220 Placed on Black List in March

Authorities in the Philippines are increasing the pressure on illegal online gambling hubs, barring over 150 Vietnamese nationals from the country in the month of March alone.

According to the nation’s news agency, some 220 individuals from various nationalities were barred entry during the month, including 30 Chinese and 14 Indonesians.

Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco noted that the barring actions do not target specific nationalities but are ‘based on meticulous scrutiny of travel patterns and activities of individuals’.

Four Americans Stopped at Airport

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it officers stationed at international airports has recorded more attempts of registered sex offenders (RSOs) to enter the country.

In a report to Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, the BI frontline officers said that it has turned back four sex convicts who sought admission as tourists in separate occasions this March.

American, British sex offenders arrested in Cebu

An American and a British national wanted in their countries for sexually molesting children were arrested in Cebu on Monday.

John Tomas Minor, 42, and Derek Gordon Heggie, 40, were apprehended by members of the fugitive search unit of the Bureau of Immigration based on mission orders issued by BI Commissioner Norman Tangsinco.
