In the memory of Kenneth William Thomson
4 october 1937 to 12 July 2021
It is with profound sadness that the Expats Forums Team announces the passing of Ken Thomson, peacefully after a short illness on July 12, 2021 at 04:10, at the home of his eldest daughter in Adams County, Ohio, USA, at the age of 83.
Ken was born in Canada and 35 years ago he fell in love with the Philippines and married a beautiful Pinay 29 years ago and until recently lived in Cebu.
He embraced his life if the Philippines and became fluent in both Tagalog and Cubano, to add to his French, German and English Vocabulary.
A few months ago he experienced a Brain Aneurysm while on his daily walk in Cebu. He was medevac’d to Singapore for treatment.
After being treated and some recooperation, he travelled from Singapore with his oldest daughter back to her home in Ohio at the beginning of June.
He will be forever remembered and loved by his wife of 29 years, Grace, and their extended families and children (He was a cherished Poppa to his seven Grandchildren, as well as his five great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife Grace, Brother Victor and predeceased by his Sister Eve.
Ken’s easy-going manner, his loyalty, his generosity, and his friendship was treasured by many and he will be greatly missed.

Ken was a founder member of ExpatsForums and was the Technical brains behind this website, If it wasn’t for him, this site would not have even started.
Following his wishes, there will be a private cremation and his ashes will be returned to be scattered in the Philippines.

Please smile and raise your glass when you think of Ken (‘Mr. T.’). He will be raising his glass of Courvoisier, his “Nectar of the Gods” with a smile and appreciation for a good life, a loving family, and the fantastic friends he met along the way.
